Example request

Use the Shopify Chargeback Reserve Release Trace skill. Review the attached records: reserve events and settlement export. Prepare this result: holds without matched releases. Include a source reference for each finding. List missing information and questions that need my review. Ask me to confirm the scope and where to save the report before you start.

What it checks

It adds the amounts for each item and compares the total with your starting figure. The report shows the difference and its source records.

What you provide

Reserve events and settlement export.

Details it records

  • Held amount
  • Released amount
  • Reversal
  • Cutoff
Read the full task logic

For this task, keep one review row for each reserve hold + currency. Record held amount, released amount, reversal, and cutoff. Keep the source location beside each value.

Separate gross sales, fees, refunds, credits, reserves, gift-card liabilities, and bank deposits. Maintain a bridge across settlement cutoffs.

Do not sum different currencies or count a gift-card sale and redemption as two cash receipts. Keep original transaction identifiers.

The engine cannot establish that all transactions were exported. It does not perform currency conversion, infer missing balances, or post adjustments.

  1. Collect the records

Start with reserve events and settlement export. Confirm the case, period, and source versions before the review.

  2. Extract the task fields

Use store, order, transaction, payout, currency to keep records distinct. The agent records the original value, an exact quote, and the source location.

  3. Reconcile the amounts

Add the observed amounts and compare the total with the supplied baseline. Run the Python helper on the structured records. Check each finding against its source.

  4. Complete the report

Prepare the task result: holds without matched releases. Include missing evidence, unresolved questions, and the next action for each open item.

Eight synthetic cases check the tool locally. Live-agent accuracy on real documents has not been tested.
